Checkpoint: Marian Square

The current name, which bears the square since the 19th century, is derived from the defunct church of Our Lady of Na Louži.

Marian Square is delimited by four impressive buildings - the Clementinum with the National Library, the modern building of the Municipal Library in Prague, the New Town Hall - the seat of the City Hall.

Prague and the baroque Clam-Gallas Palace. There is also a fountain with an allegorical statue of the Vltava, also called the Terezka Fountain.

Since 2019, the square has undergone a transformation. Instead of parked cars, there are chairs and tables to rest, the passage through the square is limited. Outdoor exhibitions, theater performances, concerts and other events are held here.
